His many successes are guided by both his knowledge and understanding of physiology and anatomy but also by his unequivocal love of his profession.

Patrick has been a key part of the development of massage and osteopathy treatments we provide here at Hands On. Beginning with us just after we opened, he has an accomplished, proven track record of customer focused care. Patrick has a wealth of experience, detailed, comprehensive training and an innate ability to diagnose and treat even the most complex injuries.

Patrick: “My passion is in helping people in pain - especially those whose pain in limiting their physical activity or sport. I am a firm believer in the benefits of sport and physical training in both a mental and public health capacity. In today’s world, encouraging people to keep fit and enjoy sport has never been more important in tackling the chronic health crisis facing our NHS. As clinicians, we are in a very unique place to help educate and encourage our patients to not just resolve their pain or injury but to discover their physical potential.

“In addition to the usual back and neck complaints, I specialise in treating stubborn chronic injuries and sport-related injury or performance issues. My treatments focus heavily on biomechanical and functional assessment to build a well-rounded picture of how the body is being used and how an injury fits into this context. This generally includes: active and passive movement assessment (including sporting movements), gait evaluation, muscle power assessment, orthopaedic testing and palpation of the muscle and joint tissue. Treatment is then specifically tailored to suit both the acute management of the patient’s symptoms and to address any specific functional imbalances that may underlie the development of the injury, and generally are evenly balanced between manual and exercise therapy. I qualified in 2014 with a Master of Osteopathy (Merit) from the London School of Osteopathy. After qualifying as a registered osteopath, I went on to study sport and exercise rehabilitation and injury management, initially completing a post graduate diploma in Sport and Exercise Medicine (PgDip SEM - distinction) and culminating in my MSc (Distinction) in Sport and Exercise Medicine from the University of South Wales. In addition to my formal qualifications, I have undertaken professional qualifications in: ultrasound imaging, electrotherapy (therapeutic ultrasound, laser and muscle stimulation), acupuncture, strength and conditioning, pilates instruction and the management of endurance athletes. I am currently waiting to complete the AACP foundation course with HePAG, which has been delayed due to the current crisis. I place a heavy emphasis on patient relationships and have an 83% patient retention at my most recent clinic. Please have a look at my patient reviews on google (Patrick Meyer, Registered Osteopath - Cheltenham).”

Thanks Patrick, you have done wonders

I have been suffering terrible pain in my shoulder for near on 5 years, and after countless trips to the doctor I’ve never discovered what the problem is. Which has been frustrating. Anyway today, I have now actually found out which area of my shoulder it is. I saw Patrick the osteopath, and I have to say his knowledge is second to none. I feel with the exercises he has given me, and manipulation to ease the tension I will finally get there, and get back to a normal life. Thank you so much Patrick. I know we’re still a way off, but it feels so much better already. I came away feeling very optimistic. Highly recommend this place. 👍🏻
Patrick has without doubt enabled me to cope with my long term injury and chronic pain so I rely more on appointments with him over medication now. Immensely knowledgeable, always sharing helpful tips plus a wonderful team - I cannot recommend Patrick Meyer and Hands On highly enough!
I went in with a lot of pain from a serious injury. His knowledge, advice and work on my plantar fascia was second to none. Got pain? Go and see the guys at Hands On.
Thanks to Patrick and his work on my right knee, I can now climb the stairs properly for the first time in months! ….. Patrick isolated the cause of my problems straight away and gave me useful exercises to activate the right muscles in my legs. I feel so much better….

Patrick has improved my neck and shoulder discomfort after one session! He explained everything as he went along and I felt in really safe hands throughout the treatment. He’s suggested exercises and techniques to try at home, it was great value for money, and he didn’t try and sell extra sessions to me that weren’t required. Highly recommended! Thanks you Hands On
I’ve had a niggling shoulder pain for a few months now which seemed to be worsening. I was worried it was getting serious. After a one hour session with Patrick he thoroughly checked the joint, put my mind at ease and gave me a course of stretches to do at home which have already had dramatic results. I was really impressed with his knowledge, advice and the service I received in such a short time.
Excellent and reliable service. Felt very confident in Patrick’s knowledge and ability to correct my back problem. Impressed with the exercise plan too as this will help me long term.
