The Hands On Team are so excited about our newest member Leila Wright! These days with increasing regularity we hear striking stories describing how our gut health can affect autoimmune problems, such as thyroid issues, rheumatoid arthritis and type 1 diabetes, digestive issues such as irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, diarrhea, heartburn or bloating, even types of depression.

So if your gut or microbes are not functioning properly they can send signals to your brain, which can affect your mood and other aspects of your health.

This is powerful stuff❗️

What is Nutritional Therapy?

Leila:

“We go much deeper than, for example, Dietitians”

“Nutritional Therapy is based on a combination of evidence-based science and holistic principles. We go much deeper than, for example, Dietitians, and we view the body as one whole interconnected system, working to understand and heal the root cause of symptoms.

“We use nutrition, herbs, lifestyle, supplementation and other holistic practices to both support health and provide long-lasting changes. We also offer testing, which can help to identify imbalances in the body in complex cases.

Note: The 'therapy' part of the name is equally important. Many people have suffered with their health for some time (often years!), and it can take a huge toll on their mental health. A big part of my role is to connect with people, understand any challenges and blockers, what their goals are, and then work with them to help them take charge of their health.”

"Empathy, Authenticity & Openness, these are the qualities I bring to Nutritional Therapy. I believe wholeheartedly in this unique approach to working together, as it provides a supportive and safe space for clients.

“I deeply enjoy connecting with people, understanding their experiences, and allowing the space to discuss more challenging areas of suffering with poor gut health, which helps us get to the root cause together. This results in a truly personalised nutrition and lifestyle plan, and one that is more likely to be successful for you.”
