Today Peter is a master of his craft, a respected teacher of Thai massage and a skilled practitioner with experience working in London’s renowned Harley Street, China, Thailand and now as an exciting part of our own services.
Thai Massage
An ancient practice and a powerful healing art, Thai massage carries with it a wide range of therapeutic benefits, it also feels sensational. Thai massage encompasses the whole body as well as the whole person, physically, emotionally and mentally.
The art of Thai massage is characterised by a wonderful array of passive stretching and twisting, to open up joints, increase flexibility and stimulate internal organs in a similar way to yoga. Alongside these techniques, skilled point work and pressing techniques increase circulation and muscle function exactly where it is needed.
Thai massage is an amazing all round treatment for both body and mind, one that can make strains and stresses simply drain away!
Tui Na Massage
Tui Na (pronounced twee-nah) translates literally as “pinch & pull” it is typically used as a safe form of treatment as opposed to the pleasure and relaxation of Thai massage. Its roots are based in ancient Chinese medicine and aspects of wellbeing such as harmony and balance.
It can be a deeper, more robust, even vigorous form of therapy and in the hands of a skilled practitioner such as Peter; it can make a world of difference. The different techniques involved in Tui Na are based around the balance of yin and yang, the former is gentle, often meditative, the latter is more dynamic. No two people have the same needs though and every treatment is bespoke to the individual. All feel a deep sense of satisfaction though, as their knots are worked out in the hands of a master of the discipline.
Peter’s deep love and dedication to what he does are clear to his clients and colleagues alike; they are also reflected deeply in his work and his ethos for life. People seek his services for many reasons; for the simple pleasure they offer, to learn more about their bodies, to ease muscular pains, tensions or anxieties and to help with feelings of sluggishness and rediscover lost vitality.
By balancing his own energies with his client’s, practicing in a meditative frame of mind and combining styles from different regions of both Thailand and China, Peter will develop a combination of techniques and manipulations to work best for you as an individual.
